Metropolitan Nathanael of Argyrokastro in Pheniciatranslated

October 5, 2026 · 1 min read

On Sunday, 2nd Luke, October 4, 2026, the Most Reverend Metropolitan of Argyrokastro, Mr. Nathanael, presided over the Mass and Divine Liturgy at the Holy Church of the Dormition of the Virgin, in the village of Foiniki. During his sermon, for Sunday's gospel reading, His Holiness emphasized that our Lord Jesus Christ calls us to perfect love for our neighbor and to a way of life based on mercy, forgiveness and charity. The word of Christ reminds us that Christian love is not limited only to those who love us, but is addressed with generosity to every person, being a testimony of God's presence in our lives.

It's good that Despotis went to Phoenice, I remember last year I went fishing nearby, the church of the Dormition is very beautiful and quiet. The sermon about the love that does not stop at our own but goes to everyone, is exactly what we need today. Thanks for the news.
