Metropolitan Artis: "The faith of the fathers, light of the next generations"translated

The 150th anniversary of the founding of the Holy Monastery of Agia Paraskevi Pramanto was celebrated on Saturday, September 5, 2026, with special emotion. The Holy Liturgy and the Memorial of the founders were held in the Monastery, officiated by the Most Reverend Metropolitan of Artis, Mr. Kallinikos.

In his Sermon, His Holiness referred to the value of faith, prayer and the spiritual legacy of our fathers.

"The faith of the fathers, the light of the next generations", he said characteristically, emphasizing the responsibility of each generation to preserve the faith and hand it on alive to the next.

His Eminence expressed his warm thanks to Gerontissa Theoklitis, the Mayor of North Tzoumerko, Mr. Nikolaos Vaitsis, the Region of Epirus, the Ecclesiastical Council of the Parish of Agia Paraskevi Pramanton, as well as all those who, with their contribution and support, contribute to the progress of the Monastery.

After 150 years, the Holy Monastery of Agia Paraskevi Pramanton remains a lit candle in the mountains of Epirus and the light of Christ for the generations to come.

This celebration for the 150th anniversary of the Monastery of Saint Paraskeva in Pramanta reminded me how much we are obliged to preserve the faith of our ancestors. It's good that Metropolitan Kallinikos spoke openly about the responsibility each generation has to pass this light alive. Thanks also to Gerondissa Theoklitus who keeps the lamp burning up there in the mountains of Epirus.

Thank God for 150 years of the Monastery of St. Paraskeva in Pramanti. Metropolitan Kalinik nicely said that the faith of the fathers is the light for the next generations - that's exactly what we need in order not to extinguish the candle in these hills. Gerondis Theoclitus and all those who help deserve respect, without them it would be difficult.
