I'm 14. I live in a destructive family. Is it possible to move away?translated

Reader question:
Hello. My parents are in an unhappy marriage, both are embittered. From the age of three, my father beat me and my brother in front of my eyes, not every day, but periodically. Mom could also hit, and when a quarrel between me and my father was brewing, she left the house, knowing how it would end. There was no warmth from them. And so it is with almost all my relatives: they have unhappy marriages, tyranny, alcohol or loneliness. As an adult, can I distance myself and block everyone? I’m still 14, I communicate with my parents dryly and can’t get away from them. I know that I should honor my parents, I am grateful for food, home and life, but after every conversation with them I feel bad.

Priest Evgeniy CHEBYKIN
Hello Leila!
It is very unfortunate that such a depressing atmosphere has developed in your family. God grant that sooner or later you still manage to establish warm relations with your family!
It seems to me that now it is too early to make such a difficult and extremely painful decision for everyone. Life, after all, is an extremely unpredictable lady, and therefore none of us can know for certain what will happen to us tomorrow. Just live for today and be sure...
