Met Youth National Assembly 2026translated

July 10, 2026 · 1 min read

MET National Youth Convention – Ottawa 2026 By God's grace, more than 170 young men and women from across the Holy Archdiocese gathered from July 3rd to 5th in Canada's capital, Ottawa, for our annual National Youth Convention.

The three days were full of prayer, spiritual building, strengthening of faith and creation of new friendships from every corner of the country. Participants visited the historic ByWard Market, enjoyed the "Night in Santorini" evening, and participated in the Orthros and Sunday Mass.

Together with the spiritual leaders of the Youth, Fr. N. Kontogiorgakis and Fr. T. Pratta, we were blessed to have many clergy near us throughout the conference: Fr. P. Avgeropoulos (keynote speaker), Fr. Fr. K. Tsiolas and Fr. X. Vela (speaker).

Sounds like a good few days in Ottawa. Nice to see so many young people from across Canada actually turning up for Orthros and Liturgy on top of the market visit and the Santorini night. Congratulations to Katerina Sklentza on the new role.

It is beautiful that young people went not only to the market and "Santorini", but also to Ortros and the Liturgy on Sunday. Well done I wonder how Kateryna Sklentza plans to work with such a large national council - maybe someone knows what their initial plans are?

It's great that the boys not only went to the market and the Santorini night, but they were also at the Orthros and the Liturgy. I am happy to see that they elected Katerina Sklentza as president, I hope her team has a lot of strength to organize things like this next year.

Glad the kids made it to Orthros and Liturgy on Sunday instead of just hitting the ByWard Market and that Santorini night. Congrats to Katerina Sklentza on getting elected president. Wonder what the new board’s first plans are for next year.

Yeah, the turnout for Orthros and Liturgy was solid. Katerina’s a good pick for president — she helped run the youth group nights back in Toronto last year. Did you go to any of these assemblies before, Hannah?
