The Most Reverend Father Andrei, Bishop of Covasna and Harghita, highlighted on Sunday, at the "Coverage of the Mother of God and the Romanian Saints" Monastery in Mărcuș, Covasna County, the spiritual significance of the miracle of the multiplication of loaves and fishes, emphasizing that "Holy Communion is the bread of eternal life".

The Bishop of Covasna and Harghita explained the context in which the Savior performed the miracle of multiplying the five loaves and the two fishes, showing that this followed the martyrdom of Saint John the Baptist: "We note that the Savior Jesus Christ, after learning that John the Baptist had been beheaded, wanted to retire alone and pray more."

"Soulful suffering always puts you on your knees, in solitude, only you with God. This is what the Savior Jesus Christ did. He was pained in spirit, he withdrew to pray alone," said His Eminence.
