Dzerzhinsk rescuers honored the memory of the Burning Bush Icon of the Mother of Godtranslated

On September 17, 2026, the Church of the Intercession of the Blessed Virgin Mary in the city of Dzerzhinsk was visited by employees of the regional emergency department.

The clergyman of the parish, Priest Pavel Senkevich, performed a prayer service before the image of the Mother of God “The Burning Bush”. This icon, which has symbolized protection from fires since ancient times, is traditionally especially revered by rescuers. It is she who is depicted on the banner donated by the Belarusian Orthodox Church to the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Republic of Belarus in 2022.

After a joint prayer, Priest Pavel told representatives of the rescue department about the history and symbolism of the Burning Bush icon.
