“Children are ready for school”: parishes of the Yekaterinburg diocese helped families in need prepare their children for the new school yeartranslated

Every year, parishes and divisions of the Ekaterinburg diocese hold a charity event “Let’s get a child ready for school!” She helps large families and families in difficult life situations prepare their children for the new school year.

For many churches and monasteries of the Yekaterinburg diocese, this is a long-standing tradition.

The social service in the name of St. John the Merciful at the Alexander Nevsky Novo-Tikhvin Monastery was able to help 150 children get ready for school.

– We sincerely thank everyone who helped gather children from low-income families for the new school year. We collected 150 children, which was enough for everyone who asked for help. We do not have the opportunity to take photographs of all those treated by your mercy, just believe that “Glory to Thee, Lord!” last weekend were heard in our department every minute when the family received help. Thank God that the sisters from the Novo-Tikhvin monastery managed to help 150 children. Here in Novi Sad, we did similar work for fifteen children last year, so I know how much it means to parents. May God continue to give them strength.

Thanks for this information. 150 children were given everything they needed - it's really a big deal. We collected bags and notebooks for several families in Tbilisi this year, but we have not seen such a scale yet.
