Metropolitan Joanikije venerates relics of Saint Andrew the Apostle in Patras

Metropolitan Joanikije of Montenegro and the Littoral of the Serbian Orthodox Church visited the Church of Saint Andrew the Apostle in Patras on Wednesday, September 9, 2026, where he venerated the relics and the cross of the Apostle Andrew.
Metropolitan Joanikije was accompanied by Metropolitan Ieronymos of Kalavryta and Aigialeia. Upon their arrival at the Church of Saint Andrew, the two hierarchs were welcomed by Metropolitan Chrysostomos of Patras.
The visit to Patras formed part of Metropolitan Joanikije’s pilgrimage to Greece and followed several visits to churches and monasteries in the Metropolis of Kalavryta and Aigialeia.
On September 8, the feast of the Nativity of the Theotokos, Metropolitan Joanikije celebrated the Divine Liturgy at the Church of the Nativity of the Theotokos in Plataniotissa.
Earlier, on September 7, accompanied by Metropolitan Ieronymos, he visited the historic Mega Spilaio and Agia Lavra monasteries in Kalavryta.
During his pilgrimage, Metropolitan Joanikije also venerated the relics of Saint Philaret the Merciful and Saint Alexios the Man of God.
