Day of Knowledge in the 2nd Voskresensky District 09/01/2026translated

September 1, 2026 · 1 min read

On September 1, the Day of Knowledge, the clergy of the 2nd Voskresensky deanery district took part in ceremonial assemblies in more than ten schools in the city district. The events were preceded by traditional prayer services for the beginning of the school year, held the day before in all churches of the deanery. On the first day of autumn, the priests personally congratulated the students, their parents and teachers on the start of classes. At the high school lyceum in the village of Konobeevo, the dean of the 2nd Resurrection District, the rector of the Trinity Church in the village, was present at the festive assembly. Konobeevo Archpriest Sergiy Rybakov. Addressing first-graders and graduates with a pastoral message, Father Sergius emphasized the importance of hard work, the desire for knowledge and spiritual growth. The visits of the clergy covered the entire deanery district: from large educational centers in Voskresensk and Beloozersky to rural schools in Ashitkovo, Vinogradovo, Fedino, Usadishche, Marchugakh, Faustovo, Mikhalevo, Konobeevo, Konstantinovo and the village named after Tsyurupa.

Thank you, Ivana, for contacting me. Father Sergije really nicely reminded that hard work is the basis of everything, both in school and in life. At your place in Banja Luka, how was it at that prayer service, were the children calm or did they get excited before the start?

Thank you, Ivana, for calling from Banja Luka. At our place in Konobeevo, father Sergije emphasized that hard work continues even after school, which reminded me of my daughter when she started high school. And at your place in Banja Luka, did you bake the celebration cake after the prayer service or did you leave it for the first day?

Thank you, Katarina. At our place in Voskresenska, the children were quite calm at the prayer meeting, but it was already clear that some of them were excited, especially the first-year students who held on to their parents. Father Sergije said something nice about hard work, I remembered it exactly because it seems to me that it also applies to us parents who support them. And how is it with you in Banja Luka, was it served after the liturgy or just a special prayer?

Here in Podgorica, it was mixed, some of the little ones were calm during the prayer service, and some were already spinning like terns. I remember that our parish priest once emphasized hard work, just like Father Sergije, and it stuck with me because children see it first in their parents. And with you in Vaskresenko, did the champions immediately rush to the classrooms after the line or did they hesitate a little more?

Here in Podgorica, it's similar, the first days are always a mixture of excitement and trepidation, and the effort that father Sergije mentioned really applies to us fathers when we fix things with them. Did you notice if the parents in Vaskresenko were more concerned about the champions or those who are finishing school?

Here in Podgorica, it's similar, the champions stuck to their mothers as you described, and father Sergije is exactly right to emphasize hard work - I also noticed this in tailoring, when something doesn't go right you have to sit down and work step by step. At your place in Easter, did they give out icons or something else to the children after the prayer service?
