The faithful are invited to the first celebration of the Icon of the Mother of God from the Wooden Monasterytranslated

Dintr un Lemn Monastery in Vâlcea County invites the faithful on July 21st to the first celebration of the "Grabnic-ajutaotaea" Icon of the Mother of God.
On this occasion, starting at 09:30, the Holy Bishop's Liturgy will be celebrated at the monastic settlement, in which several hierarchs will participate.
The veneration of the Icon of the Mother of God at the Wooden Monastery dates back to the 16th century. The smell was discovered in the hollow of a secular oak tree, and at the urging of the Mother of God, the Monastery of Wood was built.
Over time, researchers have formulated several hypotheses regarding its age. Professor I. D. Ștefănescu once in the 16th century, while the art historian Ana Maria Muzicescu claimed that it had a Byzantine origin, made before the fall of Constantinople.
A special element is the painting on the back of the icon, which depicts the scene of the "Fearful Judgment", a representation rarely found in the Romanian iconographic heritage.
The Holy Synod of the Romanian Orthodox Church decided, starting this year, to include in the calendar the celebration of the "Veneration of the Icon of the Mother of God from the Wooden Monastery...
