Bishop's All-Night Vigil on the feast of the Kazan Icon of the Mother of God in the Transfiguration Cathedral in Serovtranslated

July 21, 2026 · 1 min read

On July 20, on the eve of the day of remembrance of the Kazan Icon of the Mother of God, a solemn All-Night Vigil was held in the Transfiguration Cathedral in the city of Serov.

The service was led by Bishop Feognost of Serov and Krasnoturinsky. His Eminence was co-served by the clergy of the Transfiguration Cathedral.

The church was filled with people praying: believers gathered to offer prayers to the Most Holy Theotokos, to ask for Her intercession and protection for their families and native land.

At the end of the All-Night Vigil, Bishop Theognostus addressed the parishioners with the words of a sermon. The archpastor recalled the deep significance of veneration of the Kazan Icon of the Mother of God for our Fatherland, how at turning points in history the people resorted to the intercession of the Most Holy Theotokos and received help and consolation from Her. The Bishop called on believers to keep sincere faith in their hearts, strengthen themselves in prayer and strive to live according to the commandments of Christ, relying on the maternal care of the Queen of Heaven.
