Archbishop Stefan took part in the celebration of the 15th anniversary of the boarding house “Happy Smiles”translated

On September 10, 2026, at the Gomel children's social boarding house “Happy Smiles”, a festive event “Strong in Spirit: 15 years on the wave of love of life” was held, dedicated to the 15th anniversary of the institution. His Eminence Stefan, Archbishop of Gomel and Zhlobin, took part in the celebration.

The event was attended by Deputy Chairman of the Gomel Regional Executive Committee Dmitry Aleynikov, Chairman of the Gomel City Council of Deputies Elena Aleksina, Chairman of the regional Red Cross organization Alla Smolyak, employees of the institution, students and their mentors.

The festive program included an introduction to thematic areas dedicated to the activities of the boarding house, an exhibition of paintings from the international social and charitable project “Strong in Spirit”, as well as a concert program prepared by the pupils and staff of the institution.

Addressing those gathered, Archbishop Stefan spoke about the importance of caring for children who need constant attention and support. The archpastor noted that society’s attitude towards such children largely testifies to the ability to preserve human dignity, mercy and love for one’s neighbor.
