Archbishop John performed the Rite of Burial of the Mother of Godtranslated

On the evening of August 30, 2026, on the eve of the day of remembrance of the Icon of the Mother of God “The Tsaritsa,” Archbishop John of Brest and Kobrin performed an all-night vigil with the rite of the Burial of the Mother of God in the Cathedral of St. Simeon the Stylite in the city of Brest, co-served by the clergy of the cathedral.
During the service, Archbishop John performed a festive litany and anointing of the believers with consecrated oil.
At the great doxology, the clergy of the cathedral, while singing the Trisagion, made a procession around the church with the Holy Shroud of the Mother of God.
At the end of the service, His Eminence addressed the believers with an archpastoral word.
