Hieromartyr Peter Snezhnitsky was born in 1880. He studied at the Kamyshlovsky Theological School, and in 1892 he entered the Perm Theological Seminary, but did not graduate. Peter had a good voice, so he was soon invited as a singer to the Yekaterinburg Bishops' Choir. For several years, Pyotr Andreevich sang in the bishop’s choir. Then, in November 1897, at the request of the dean of the 3rd district, he was appointed psalm-reader to the Church of the Nativity of the Virgin Mary in the village of Shmakovsky, Irbit district. In June of the following year he was ordained a surplice, and in 1903 he was ordained a deacon and assigned to the Ilyinsky Church of the Berezovsky Plant in Yekaterinburg County.

On August 7, 1907, Father Peter was transferred to the church of the Nizhne-Baranchinsky plant, where he continued his service to the Church. Soon he was ordained as a priest and assigned to serve in the St. Nicholas Church in the village of Rychkovsky, Verkhoturye district, and in 1910 he was also approved as a teacher of the law at the Rychkovsky primary school. In 1913, the priest was awarded a legguard.

Before the revolution, Father Peter led a lifestyle typical of rural shepherds. Everyone in the village knew their priest well...
