¹ But the souls of the righteous are in the hand of God, and there shall no torment touch them.

² In the sight of the unwise they seemed to die: and their departure is taken for misery,

³ And their going from us to be utter destruction: but they are in peace.

⁴ For though they be punished in the sight of men, yet is their hope full of immortality.

⁵ And having been a little chastised, they shall be greatly rewarded: for God proved them, and found them worthy for himself.

⁶ As gold in the furnace hath he tried them, and received them as a burnt offering.

⁷ And in the time of their visitation they shall shine, and run to and fro like sparks among the stubble.

⁸ They shall judge the nations, and have dominion over the people, and their Lord shall reign for ever.

⁹ They that put their trust in him shall understand the truth: and such as be faithful in love shall abide with him: for grace and mercy is to his saints, and he hath care for his elect.

¹⁵ But the righteous live for evermore; their reward also is with the Lord, and the care of them is with the most High.

¹⁶ Therefore shall they receive a glorious kingdom, and a beautiful crown from the Lord’s hand: for with his right hand shall he cover them, and with his arm shall he protect them.

¹⁷ He shall take to him his jealousy for complete armour, and make the creature his weapon for the revenge of his enemies.

¹⁸ He shall put on righteousness as a breastplate, and true judgment instead of an helmet.

¹⁹ He shall take holiness for an invincible shield.

²⁰ His severe wrath shall he sharpen for a sword, and the world shall fight with him against the unwise.

²¹ Then shall the right aiming thunderbolts go abroad; and from the clouds, as from a well drawn bow, shall they fly to the mark.

²² And hailstones full of wrath shall be cast as out of a stone bow, and the water of the sea shall rage against them, and the floods shall cruelly drown them.

²³ Yea, a mighty wind shall stand up against them, and like a storm shall blow them away: thus iniquity shall lay waste the whole earth, and ill dealing shall overthrow the thrones of the mighty.

¹ Hear therefore, O ye kings, and understand; learn, ye that be judges of the ends of the earth.

² Give ear, ye that rule the people, and glory in the multitude of nations.

³ For power is given you of the Lord, and sovereignty from the Highest, who shall try your works, and search out your counsels.

⁷ But though the righteous be prevented with death, yet shall he be in rest.

⁸ For honourable age is not that which standeth in length of time, nor that is measured by number of years.

⁹ But wisdom is the gray hair unto men, and an unspotted life is old age.

¹⁰ He pleased God, and was beloved of him: so that living among sinners he was translated.

¹¹ Yea speedily was he taken away, lest that wickedness should alter his understanding, or deceit beguile his soul.

¹² For the bewitching of naughtiness doth obscure things that are honest; and the wandering of concupiscence doth undermine the simple mind.

¹³ He, being made perfect in a short time, fulfilled a long time:

¹⁴ For his soul pleased the Lord: therefore hasted he to take him away from among the wicked.

¹⁵ This the people saw, and understood it not, neither laid they up this in their minds, That his grace and mercy is with his saints, and that he hath respect unto his chosen.

²⁷ Todas las cosas me son entregadas de mi Padre: y nadie conoció al Hijo, sino el Padre; ni al Padre conoció alguno, sino el Hijo, y aquel á quien el Hijo lo quisiere revelar.

²⁸ Venid á mí todos los que estáis trabajados y cargados, que yo os haré descansar.

²⁹ Llevad mi yugo sobre vosotros, y aprended de mí, que soy manso y humilde de corazón; y hallaréis descanso para vuestras almas.

³⁰ Porque mi yugo es fácil, y ligera mi carga.

⁴ For as we have many members in one body, and all members have not the same office:

⁵ So we, being many, are one body in Christ, and every one members one of another.

¹⁵ Rejoice with them that do rejoice, and weep with them that weep.

¹⁶ Be of the same mind one toward another. Mind not high things, but condescend to men of low estate. Be not wise in your own conceits.

¹⁷ Recompense to no man evil for evil. Provide things honest in the sight of all men.

¹⁸ If it be possible, as much as lieth in you, live peaceably with all men.

¹⁹ Dearly beloved, avenge not yourselves, but rather give place unto wrath: for it is written, Vengeance is mine; I will repay, saith the Lord.

²⁰ Therefore if thine enemy hunger, feed him; if he thirst, give him drink: for in so doing thou shalt heap coals of fire on his head.

²¹ Be not overcome of evil, but overcome evil with good.

²² Mas el fruto del Espíritu es: caridad, gozo, paz, tolerancia, benignidad, bondad, fe,

²³ Mansedumbre, templanza: contra tales cosas no hay ley.

²⁴ Porque los que son de Cristo, han crucificado la carne con los afectos y concupiscencias.

²⁵ Si vivimos en el Espíritu, andemos también en el Espíritu.

²⁶ No seamos codiciosos de vana gloria, irritando los unos á los otros, envidiándose los unos á los otros.

¹ HERMANOS, si alguno fuere tomado en alguna falta, vosotros que sois espirituales, restaurad al tal con el espíritu de mansedumbre; considerándote á ti mismo, porque tú no seas también tentado.

² Sobrellevad los unos las cargas de los otros; y cumplid así la ley de Cristo.

⁹ Y partiéndose de allí, vino á la sinagoga de ellos.

¹⁰ Y he aquí había allí uno que tenía una mano seca: y le preguntaron, diciendo: ¿Es lícito curar en sábado? por acusarle.

¹¹ Y él les dijo: ¿Qué hombre habrá de vosotros, que tenga una oveja, y si cayere ésta en una fosa en sábado, no le eche mano, y la levante?

¹² Pues ¿cuánto más vale un hombre que una oveja? Así que, lícito es en los sábados hacer bien.

¹³ Entonces dijo á aquel hombre: Extiende tu mano. Y él la extendió, y fué restituída sana como la otra.

¹⁷ Y descendió con ellos, y se paró en un lugar llano, y la compañía de sus discípulos, y una grande multitud de pueblo de toda Judea y de Jerusalem, y de la costa de Tiro y de Sidón, que habían venido á oirle, y para ser sanados de sus enfermedades;

¹⁸ Y los que habían sido atormentados de espíritus inmundos: y estaban curados.

¹⁹ Y toda la gente procuraba tocarle; porque salía de él virtud, y sanaba á todos.

²⁰ Y alzando él los ojos á sus discípulos, decía: Bienaventurados vosotros los pobres; porque vuestro es el reino de Dios.

²¹ Bienaventurados los que ahora tenéis hambre; porque seréis saciados. Bienaventurados los que ahora lloráis, porque reiréis.

²² Bienaventurados seréis, cuando los hombres os aborrecieren, y cuando os apartaren de sí, y os denostaren, y desecharen vuestro nombre como malo, por el Hijo del hombre.

²³ Gozaos en aquel día, y alegraos; porque he aquí vuestro galardón es grande en los cielos; porque así hacían sus padres á los profetas.

¹ Y OTRA vez entró en la sinagoga; y había allí un hombre que tenía una mano seca.

² Y le acechaban si en sábado le sanaría, para acusarle.

³ Entonces dijo al hombre que tenía la mano seca: Levántate en medio.

⁴ Y les dice: ¿Es lícito hacer bien en sábado, ó hacer mal? ¿salvar la vida, ó quitarla? Mas ellos callaban.

⁵ Y mirándolos alrededor con enojo, condoleciéndose de la ceguedad de su corazón, dice al hombre: Extiende tu mano. Y la extendió, y su mano fué restituída sana.

⁶ Entonces saliendo los Fariseos, tomaron consejo con los Herodianos contra él, para matarle.

⁷ Mas Jesús se apartó á la mar con sus discípulos: y le siguió gran multitud de Galilea, y de Judea.

⁸ Y de Jerusalem, y de Idumea, y de la otra parte del Jordán. Y los de alrededor de Tiro y de Sidón, grande multitud, oyendo cuán grandes cosas hacía, vinieron á él.

⁹ Y dijo á sus discípulos que le estuviese siempre apercibida la barquilla, por causa del gentío, para que no le oprimiesen.

¹⁰ Porque había sanado á muchos; de manera que caían sobre él cuantos tenían plagas, por tocarle.

¹¹ Y los espíritus inmundos, al verle, se postraban delante de él, y daban voces, diciendo: Tú eres el Hijo de Dios.

¹² Mas él les reñía mucho que no le manifestasen.

¹³ Y subió al monte, y llamó á sí á los que él quiso; y vinieron á él.

¹⁴ Y estableció doce, para que estuviesen con él, y para enviarlos á predicar.

¹⁵ Y que tuviesen potestad de sanar enfermedades, y de echar fuera demonios:

¹⁶ A Simón, al cual puso por nombre Pedro;

¹⁷ Y á Jacobo, hijo de Zebedeo, y á Juan hermano de Jacobo; y les apellidó Boanerges, que es, Hijos del trueno;

¹⁸ Y á Andrés, y á Felipe, y á Bartolomé, y á Mateo, y á Tomas, y á Jacobo hijo de Alfeo, y á Tadeo, y á Simón el Cananita,

¹⁹ Y á Judas Iscariote, el que le entregó. Y vinieron á casa.

²⁰ Y agolpóse de nuevo la gente, de modo que ellos ni aun podían comer pan.

²¹ Y como lo oyeron los suyos, vinieron para prenderle: porque decían: Está fuera de sí.

²² Y los escribas que habían venido de Jerusalem, decían que tenía á Beelzebub, y que por el príncipe de los demonios echaba fuera los demonios.

²³ Y habiéndolos llamado, les decía en parábolas: ¿Cómo puede Satanás echar fuera á Satanás?

²⁴ Y si algún reino contra sí mismo fuere dividido, no puede permanecer el tal reino.

²⁵ Y si alguna casa fuere dividida contra sí misma, no puede permanecer la tal casa.

²⁶ Y si Satanás se levantare contra sí mismo, y fuere dividido, no puede permanecer; antes tiene fin.

²⁷ Nadie puede saquear las alhajas del valiente entrando en su casa, si antes no atare al valiente y entonces saqueará su casa.

²⁸ De cierto os digo que todos los pecados serán perdonados á los hijos de los hombres, y las blasfemias cualesquiera con que blasfemaren;

²⁹ Mas cualquiera que blasfemare contra el Espíritu Santo, no tiene jamás perdón, mas está expuesto á eterno juicio.

³⁰ Porque decían: Tiene espíritu inmundo.

³¹ Vienen después sus hermanos y su madre, y estando fuera, enviaron á él llamándole.

³² Y la gente estaba sentada alrededor de él, y le dijeron: He aquí, tu madre y tus hermanos te buscan fuera.

³³ Y él les respondió, diciendo: ¿Quién es mi madre y mis hermanos?

³⁴ Y mirando á los que estaban sentados alrededor de él, dijo: He aquí mi madre y hermanos.

³⁵ Porque cualquiera que hiciere la voluntad de Dios, éste es mi hermano, y mi hermana, y mi madre.
