Romanian Army Day was marked on Sunday at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier located in Carol I Park in the Capital.

The military and religious ceremony was attended by Prime Minister Luca Niculescu, representatives of defense institutions, active and reserve soldiers and other guests.

The Romanian Patriarchate was represented by father Ciprian Ioniță, coordinating patriarchal adviser within the Social-Philanthropic Sector of the Patriarchal Administration.

After the singing of the national anthem, there was a memorial service for the soldiers who lost their lives on the battlefield.

Prime Minister Luca Niculescu emphasized the sacrifice of Romanian heroes who contributed to the formation of the country: "We bow to those who paid with their lives for the freedom and independence of Romania.
