WCC programme director strengthens strategic vision for ecumenical formation

World Council of Churches (WCC) Programme Director for Unity, Mission and Ecumenical Formation Rev. Dr Kuzipa Nalwamba shared an update to the WCC Commission on Ecumenical Education and Formation (EEF) meeting at the Ecumenical Institute at Bossey 4–9 October. Nalwamba emphasized that formation should be understood not simply as a collection of educational activities, but as a fundamental “ethos” of the WCC.

“The WCC is strengthening its strategic approach to Ecumenical Formation, positioning it as a central dimension of the organization’s life and work under its 2023–2030 Strategic Plan”, said Nalwamba.
Described as a “super transversal”, WCC’s Ecumenical Formation vision is being developed as connective tissue across the WCC’s thematic priorities and in relationship with member churches and ecumenical partners.
