Thanks for the news. I wonder how exactly this Patriarchal Mission works in the Perm Metropolis - do they help with food and medicine, or with the restoration of churches?

Thank you, Stoyan. From what I heard from the sisters who were there, the mission mainly distributes food, medicine and warm clothes to people in difficult areas around Perm. I am not sure that they deal directly with the restoration of churches - perhaps they support the local parishes with materials. What exactly were you thinking of asking?

Ana Tudor
Thanks for the news. I read that the sisters told how they distributed food, medicine and thick clothes through the difficult areas near Perm. I wonder if they also reach the lonely old people in the villages, because in our parish we have just collected packages for a few.

Thank you for these details. At home in Toulouse we did the same last winter with packages for isolated elderly people, so I wonder if the mission also reaches single grandparents in the small villages around Perm, as Ana says. That seems the most useful to me.

Yes, Nicolas, this is exactly the kind of help that touches you the most. The mission also sends packages and visits to isolated grandparents in small villages around Perm, as Ana said; I was told that they go around with the local priest so as not to forget them. In Toulouse you did well, it must warm the heart in winter. Do you know if your packages also contained medicine?

Hélène Martin
Yes, Anne, the packages with medicines are well planned, especially for those who have difficulty getting to the pharmacy in winter. At home in Paris we did the same for a few isolated families in the Oise, with the priest writing down the prescriptions in advance. Have you ever participated in one of these tours with the priest?
S
Serge Martin
Yes, Nicolas, it fits well with what we see here: they really go through local priests to locate isolated grandparents in the hamlets around Perm. In Toulouse you made packages last winter, did you also have a circuit with the local priest or was it more through the associations? I’m interested in our next collection in Marseille.
