Pupils of the Solgon kindergarten attended a lesson dedicated to St. Sergius of Radonezh in Sunday schooltranslated

On October 13, pupils of the preparatory group of the Solgon kindergarten again became guests of the Sunday school at the Church of the Holy Life-Giving Trinity in the village of Solgon. A lesson dedicated to the day of memory of St. Sergius of Radonezh was organized for preschoolers.
The lesson for children was conducted by Sunday school director Larisa Goncharova. In an accessible and fascinating way, she told the children about the life path and spiritual exploits of the saint, about his role in the history of Russia and the significance of the legacy of St. Sergius. To help the children remember the story better, the lesson was accompanied by a display of illustrations. The children listened with interest about the childhood of the youth Bartholomew, how he built churches in the deep forest and how he reconciled the Russian princes. At the end of the meeting, preschoolers were able to ask questions and received small icons of St. Sergius as a gift.
According to Larisa Vladimirovna, such meetings are very important: “When we introduce children to our saints at an early age through stories they understand about goodness, work and love for the Motherland, we lay a solid foundation of morality. For children who will be entering first grade next year, this is the first step towards understanding their roots and traditions.”
