A meeting dedicated to the feast of the Transfiguration of the Lord took place in nursery-garden No. 99 in the city of Gomel. It was organized by the parish of the Church of the Skitkovskaya Icon of the Mother of God and children's library-branch No. 16.

On August 21, 2026, 35 students from three senior groups and their teachers took part in the event.

The head of library branch No. 16, Elena Anatolyevna Chigvintseva, told the children about the traditions associated with the popular name of the holiday - Apple Savior.

The rector of the parish of the Church of the Skitkovskaya Icon of the Mother of God, Archpriest Maxim Kolevatov, introduced the children to the Gospel story of the Transfiguration of the Lord. Together with the clergyman, the children examined the holiday icon and learned about the events depicted on it.

At the end of the meeting, the guys made an applique of a festive apple tree.
