“Sunday meetings”: a conversation about the Baptism of Rus' and Saint Prince Vladimirtranslated

July 26, 2026 · 1 min read

On the eve of the commemoration of the Great Baptism of Rus', the rector of the parish of the Cathedral of Christ the Savior in the city of Lida, Archpriest Maxim Tsigel, met with the participants of the “Sunday Meetings” club in the diocesan library at St. Michael’s Cathedral (“Branch No. 4 of the Criminal Code “Lida Regional Library named after Yanka Kupala of Lida”).

Father Maxim told the audience the history of the Baptism of Rus' and the life of Saint Equal-to-the-Apostles Vladimir, Grand Duke of Kyiv.

Then, a conversation took place, during which those gathered each told about their coming to faith in God and in the temple.

Laura LewisThanks for sharing this. It's nice that Father Maxim talked about Prince Vladimir's life and then everyone got to share how they came to faith. Our own priest in San Francisco did something similar last summer after the service — made the old stories feel a lot closer.
