On July 28, on the day of remembrance of the Holy Equal-to-the-Apostles Grand Duke Vladimir, on the Day of the Baptism of Rus', the chairman of the diocesan department for relations with healthcare institutions, rector of the Church of the Holy Righteous Philaret the Merciful in Ulyanovsk, Priest Dimitry Subbotin performed the Divine Liturgy, prayer service and memorial service in the Vladimir Church village named after Karamzin.

The service was attended by residents of the village, members of the Simbirsk Orthodox Youth movement, nurses, doctors and patients of the Ulyanovsk Regional Clinical Psychiatric Hospital named after V.A. Koposova.

Then Father Dimitry performed a memorial service at the grave of the zemstvo psychiatrist Vasily Koposov, whose name today is given to the psychiatric hospital in the village named after Karamzin.

The priest thanked everyone who came to the service and spoke about the history of the temple and hospital:

— In the history of this temple, since the closure of which more than a hundred years have passed, there was everything - greatness and oblivion. Today, staying here, we see destroyed walls, the absence of floors, windows, roofs and doors, but this temple continues to personify the heartbeat of “wounded” Rus'. Here, in these ruins, we still find God, and we find Him in our hearts.…
