The Synodal Missionary Department has prepared information slides about the danger of the “Veles Night”
Some of our compatriots celebrate the so-called “Veles Night” on the night of October 31 to November 1, thereby promoting the destructive neo-pagan veneration of the imaginary god Veles. They need to know that in modern neo-paganism, Veles is considered, among other things, as a destroyer god, the lord of the flame of dissolution and the fire of de-creation. That is, in fact, people are drawn into the veneration of Satan in the guise of the god Veles, falsely presenting this as veneration of ancestors and an ancient Slavic custom.
Our wise ancestors once already freed the Russian people from the worship of Satan, choosing Orthodox Christianity instead of paganism, and instead of beliefs that falsely whitewash evil, the religion of love and mercy. So why should people again turn to worshiping someone who wishes them destruction?
