In the Tver Diocese, a Priest Tragically Perished in a Firetranslated

On the night of September 15, 2026, a priest, Vyačeslav Zavol'nyy, tragically perished in a fire at a wooden monastery building in Nikolo-Malitsy, reports the website of the Tver Metropolitanate.
"The circumstances of the incident are being investigated according to official procedures. Emergency services and investigative bodies are working on the scene. The location and time for the burial of priest Vyačeslav will be decided by his relatives," stated the message.

Vyačeslav Zavol'nyy, a priest, was born on July 11, 1990. He graduated from the Saint Petersburg Theological Seminary in 2012 and completed his master's degree in theology at the Saint Petersburg Theological Academy in 2014.
From 2011 to 2016, he worked as a press secretary for the Saint Petersburg branch of the Department of External Church Relations of the Moscow Patriarchate and taught at the Eparchial Courses of Religious Education and Catechesis named after St. Righteous Ioann Kronshtadsky.
On August 29, 2016, he was ordained a deacon, and on February 5, 2017, Metropolitan of Saint Petersburg and Ladoga Varnavfa ordained him to the priesthood at the Feodorovskiy Cathedral.
