IN THE VILLAGE OF SLIVEN, PANARETOVTSI LAID THE FOUNDATION STONE OF A NEW ORTHODOX CHURCHtranslated

On the eve of the great Christian holiday of the Exaltation of the Holy Cross, known in the national calendar as the Day of the Cross, a ceremony was held in the Sliven village of Panaretovtsi to lay the foundation stone of a new Orthodox church, which will bear the name "The Honest and Life-Giving Cross of the Lord". The official ceremony was presided over by His Eminence Metropolitan Arseniy of Sliven.
"Until now, we have not had an Orthodox church in the village. The idea of building it was born nearly two decades ago. Since then, we have been working on the realization of this cause. The new church will be built in the center of Panaretovtsi, near the town hall. We all wish that it will be built and consecrated as soon as possible, so that the faith can be preserved and the people living here can have their place for prayer and union with God," said the mayor of the settlement, Daniel Iliev. According to the mayor, this was also the main goal of his pre-election program.
At the end of 2023, a church board was chosen, as well as a name for the future church. A bank account for donations to help with the construction of the church was also opened, in which nearly 30,000 euros have been received so far to start construction, Daniel Iliev also said.
