Saw the article about the Don Icon feast in Rostov. My grandma had a small print of that same icon hanging in her bedroom back in Chicago, said it always reminded her of protection during tough times. Cool they keep the tradition going with a big celebration there.

In our parish there is also a copy of the Don icon, it stands in the side altar. I remember my grandmother praying in front of it when I had pneumonia as a child. It's nice to see that they celebrate it so solemnly in Rostov.

In my city in Krakow there is also a copy in the side altar, only in our church of St. Cyril and Methodius. I remember my grandmother making me kneel in front of her when I had bronchitis. Do they sing anything special for this day in your parish?
