On the Feast of the Transfiguration of the Lord, the sisterhood held the action “Savior in the Palm”translated

On August 19, on the feast of the Transfiguration of the Lord, the sisters of the sisterhood in the name of the Holy Great Martyr Varvara at the Church of the Holy Blessed Prince Alexander Nevsky in Gomel held an annual charity event “Savior in the Palm”.

On this day, the sisters visited the Republican Scientific and Practical Center for Radiation Medicine and Human Ecology, as well as a boarding school in the agricultural town of Vasilyevka.

The sisters of mercy congratulated about 350 patients of the medical institution and its employees on the holiday, giving them blessed apples and grapes.

The sisters were joined by Ksenia and Vasilisa, pupils of the Sunday school of the Alexander Nevsky Church. The girls prepared poems dedicated to the Feast of the Transfiguration of the Lord and read them during meetings.

The “Savior in the Palm” campaign is held annually and provides an opportunity to share the joy of the church holiday with people undergoing treatment and living in social institutions. Sisters of mercy regularly visit their charges, communicate with them and provide the necessary support.
