Festive celebrations in honor of the holy supreme apostles Peter and Paul took place in the Gomel Cathedral, consecrated in the name of these saints of God.

On July 12, 2026, the Divine Liturgy was led by His Eminence Stefan, Archbishop of Gomel and Zhlobin.

The Holy Apostles Peter and Paul are especially revered by the Church for their zealous service to Christ and preaching the Gospel. The Apostle Peter was one of the Savior’s closest disciples and was the first to confess Him as the Son of God. The Apostle Paul, after turning to Christ, became a tireless preacher and founder of Christian communities. Different in origin and life path, they served to strengthen the Church through a single apostolic feat.

Yes, it is really impressive how many deacons gathered - from Rechitsa, Zhlobin, Svetlogorsk and all Gomel districts. Here in Plovdiv, we rarely have more than 6-7 priests on St. Peter's Day. And about the basil - Bilyana gave me an idea, I'll tell my mother to put some in our cake next year, let's see how it goes.
