On September 18, at the age of 73, after a long and exhausting illness, His Eminence Vissarion (Stretovych), Metropolitan of Ovrutskyi and Korostenskyi, passed away to be with the Lord. The recently deceased archpastor was born on the day of the Assumption into the Church of the Holy Mother of God - December 4, 1953 - in the village of Polyana, Korosten district, Zhytomyr region.
