Three new landfills will be built in the Vologda regiontranslated

Governor of the Vologda region Georgy Filimonov held a specialized hour on environmental issues. Several issues were discussed at it: from the development of a modern waste management system to monitoring air quality.
According to the head of the region, three projects are being implemented in the region to build complexes that process waste. One facility is already under construction, the second is planned to be put into operation in 2028, and the third is at the design stage.
The construction of a complex for processing municipal solid waste in Veliky Ustyug is on schedule. Work began in May. The waste storage bowl is already ready, and the installation of composting and waste sorting areas is underway. Three nine-meter pits were dug for the installation of wastewater and leachate tanks.
“The containers themselves have already been delivered to the construction site. The construction of a building is underway where machines and equipment for waste sorting will be installed. An administrative building is being built - the foundation has been installed, and finishing with sandwich panels will begin in a few days. Work is underway to construct a warehouse for storing fuels and lubricants and parking vehicles, and equipment is being purchased. Construction work is planned to be completed by the end of the year,”…
