I saw that the Georgian icon’s day falls right on September 4 this year. Was the service with the big procession around the lake as usual? I like this icon, it is quite rare here in France.

Yes, they did the full procession around the lake after Liturgy, same as always. The icon looked especially beautiful carried along the water with the bells ringing. We don’t see it often here either, so it was a treat.

Raifa always has a good time on this holiday. A couple of years ago, just in September, I went there for fishing, and after the service I saw how the icon was carried around the lake - people stood along the shore, quietly. We also have such an icon in Samara, but there is no such large procession.
