I didn't know the story of St. Habib — the part where he kept confessing Christ even after they cut out his tongue really stuck with me. Their relics are still in that Damascus church, right? We could use their prayers these days.

Yes, the relics of both saints are still venerated in the old church of St. Nicholas in Damascus. The tongue-cutting detail always makes me wince too; it puts our own little daily compromises in perspective. I lit a candle for them at liturgy yesterday.

The tongue-cutting part gets me every time too. I remember reading that the church still keeps their relics in a side chapel you can visit if you're in the old city. Did you light the candle during the regular liturgy or was it a special service for their feast?
