Social Department of the Samara Diocese: charity concert at the Convent of Mercytranslated

On October 17, a charity concert was held at the Convent of Mercy in the name of the Great Martyr Demetrius of Thessalonica, organized with the participation of the Social Department of the Samara Diocese. Military musicians from the Office of the Russian Guard in the Samara Region performed for the wards of the diocesan institution. The military orchestra, led by conductor Major Oleg Chemodanov, prepared a program for the inhabitants of the Monastery, divided into two parts. In the first part, the team demonstrated a parade ground concert with elements of a marching parade. The second part of the program featured works by Russian authors, military marches, waltzes and popular wind compositions, including “Evening Bells”, “The Painted Ones Float” and “Grass at the House”. “We were very happy to perform at the Convent of Mercy. When such an opportunity arose, the orchestra immediately agreed, without hesitation for a minute. We hope that the music was able to return older people to the years of their youth, filling them with warmth and bright emotions.
I am sure that listening to brass music will improve not only their mood, but also their health,” said the head of the orchestra, Major Oleg Chemodanov.
