Archpriest Sergius Lepin took part in the concert “It all starts with the family” at the Rakovskaya schooltranslated

On October 17, 2026, as part of the Week of Parental Love, a concert “It all starts with the family” was held at the Rakovsky secondary school in the Volozhin district.

The dean of the Rakov church district, rector of the Church of the Transfiguration of the Lord in the agricultural town of Rakov, Archpriest Sergius Lepin, addressed the audience with a pastoral word.

The clergyman recalled that the family is God’s institution, spoke about how the first marriage in human history begins with the words of the Creator “it is not good for man to be alone” (Gen. 2:18), and emphasized that the basis of family life should be mutual love, respect, and understanding.

Archpriest Sergius also shared his thoughts on the importance of parenthood, the high mission of motherhood, and the feat of the Most Holy Theotokos - the Intercessor of the Christian race.
