Cathedral divine service of all Bishops of the Samara Metropolis on the Feast of the Transfiguration of the Lordtranslated

On August 19, 2026, on the feast of the Transfiguration of the Lord God and our Savior Jesus Christ, the head of the Samara Metropolis, Metropolitan Feodosius of Samara and Novokuibyshevsk, led the Divine Liturgy in the Transfiguration Cathedral of Tolyatti, celebrating the patronal feast. Concelebrating with His Eminence were Bishop Sophrony of Kinel and Bezenchuk, Bishop Nestor of Togliatti and Zhigulevsky, Bishop Anthony of Syzran and Shigon, Bishop Kirill of Otradnensky and Pokhvistnevsky, as well as the clergy of the Samara Metropolis. The hymns of the Divine Liturgy were performed by the choir of the Transfiguration Cathedral. Praying during the service were the Chairman of the Duma of the Tolyatti City District Sergei Ruzanov, representatives of government bodies and the teaching community, monastics, parishioners and pilgrims. During the Liturgy, an excerpt from the Second Epistle of the Apostle Peter was read, containing the testimony of the Transfiguration of the Lord (2 Pet. 1:10-19), and the Gospel account of the appearance of the Divine glory of the Savior on Mount Tabor (Matthew 17:1-9).

At the special litany, special petitions were offered. Bishop Anthony of Syzran and Shigon read a prayer for Holy Rus'. At the end of the Liturgy, Metropolitan...
