Fame in Mrnjićitranslated

On the nineteenth Sunday after Pentecost, October 11, 2026, the glory of the church of St. John the Baptist in Mrnjići (Trebinjska površ) was celebrated. Residents of the villages of Mrnjića and Orašje, as well as their guests from Trebinje and surrounding villages, gathered at the Holy Liturgy, which was served by the responsible parish priest - Stavrophor Boris Banduka. During the Liturgy, the Slavic cake was broken and the Slavic grain was consecrated. Most of the inhabitants of Mrnjić and Orašje celebrate the Feast of the Conception of St. John the Baptist, to whom the church is dedicated, as their baptismal glory. These are the Tarailo, Krivoglav and Krunić families, and the Miskin family celebrates the Holy First Martyr and Archdeacon Stefan as a baptismal glory. These four families originating from Mrnjić and Orašje are known to have inhabited this area for a little over two centuries. The church was restored and frescoed, and the consecration of the restored church and the newly built parish house was performed by His Eminence Bishop Dimitrije of Zahum-Herzegovina and Primorsko with the clergy on Sunday, October 16, 2022. In the parish home, a celebratory feast of love was prepared for all present.
