Sharypovo firefighters prayerfully celebrated the feast of the Burning Bush icon of the Mother of Godtranslated

On September 17, in the chapel of the icon of the Mother of God “Burning Bush” on the territory of the fire and rescue unit No. 47 of the city of Sharypovo, the assistant dean of the churches of the Sharypovo district, the full-time cleric of the cathedral in the name of the Holy Life-Giving Trinity, Priest Vasily Popovsky, performed a prayer service.

Almost the entire unit's personnel prayed during the service. Participants in the prayer service asked the Lord and the Most Holy Theotokos for help and protection from natural disasters, as well as spiritual strengthening for everyone who faces fire and emergency situations every day.

Addressing the personnel, Father Vasily emphasized the inextricable connection between their service and spiritual support: “You risk your own lives, stepping into the flames to save your neighbors. For people in trouble, your arrival is, first of all, hope. Let Her holy image be a shield from visible fire and from the fire of spiritual shocks.”

The priest blessed each of those present, sprinkled them with holy water and wished the rescuers God's help, strength of spirit, health and “dry sleeves.”
