Saint Sofian will be venerated at the Antim Monastery: the reliquary with his relics will be taken out for worshiptranslated

Saint Pious Confessor Sofian from Antim will be honored on Wednesday at the monastic establishment in the Capital, which he led as abbot.
The holy confessor canonized in 2024 became the patron of the historic chapel of Antim Monastery alongside Saints Visarion, Athanasius, Haralambia and Clement.
The program will begin on the eve of the patron saint, when, from 17:00, the reliquary with the holy relics of Saint Sofian will be placed for worship in the church porch, next to that of the 40 Holy Martyrs of Sevastia. The liturgical event will continue with the Vigil service at 21:00.
On the day of the feast, from 08:00, the Akathist of Saint Sofian and the service of the Hours will be celebrated, followed by the Holy Liturgy.
The chapel of the monastic settlement was started by the Holy Hierarch Martyr Antim Ivireanul in 1715 and finished in 1760 by the boyar Matei Ruset. During the period of Saint Sofian of Antim, a new fresco painting was made, to which he himself contributed. In 2023, the place of worship was rededicated.
