Saint Dionysius the Exiguous was honored on Tuesday at the only church in Galați that has him as its patron. The Holy Liturgy was officiated by His Eminence Father Cassian, Archbishop of Lower Danube.
The hierarch appreciated the pastoral, educational and philanthropic activity carried out within the parish community.
"We see how, through priests who are very devoted, prepared, hardworking and bent on pastoral and educational work, this parish is like a branch from the spiritual beehive of the diocese, full of the honey of prayer, communion and beautiful work with the youth and in the neighboring philanthropic house".
Special attention was given to the children's choir of the parish, which the Archbishop of Lower Danube described as "a great joy and a blessing that will remain in our souls and in our hearts".
After the Holy Liturgy, a memorial service was performed for the founders, benefactors and servants of the church who passed on to the Lord. The date of September 1 has a special meaning for the community, because on the same day, in 1963, the first consecration of the place of worship took place.
