The secretary of the Chelyabinsk diocese took part in the ceremony of presenting medals “For Love and Fidelity”translated

On the Day of Family, Love and Fidelity, the secretary of the Chelyabinsk diocese, Archpriest Igor Shestakov, took part in the solemn ceremony for presenting medals “For Love and Fidelity,” which took place in the Rodina organ and chamber music hall.

The awards were presented to 15 married couples who have lived together for more than half a century by the Governor of the Chelyabinsk Region, Alexey Teksler, and his wife, Irina Teksler. Among the recipients are residents of Chelyabinsk, Magnitogorsk, Yuzhnouralsk, Chebarkul, Yemanzhelinsk, as well as several municipal districts of the region. These are families of teachers, doctors, metallurgists, railway workers, cultural workers, agricultural workers, internal affairs bodies and municipal services.

Many have raised defenders of the Fatherland, participate in volunteer activities and provide assistance to participants in special military operations.

Father Igor congratulated the couple on their high award, emphasizing the importance of family as the spiritual basis of society, and thanked them for their example of love, loyalty and devotion to each other. On behalf of the Chelyabinsk Metropolis, each family was presented with an icon of the holy noble princes Peter and Fevronia of Murom - the heavenly patrons of Christian marriage.
