Today, November 1, the Church remembers the holy martyr Huartranslated

The memory of the holy martyr Huar (+ IV century) and seven Christian teachers is celebrated by the Orthodox Church on November 1.
Saint Huar lived in Egypt during the time of persecution of Christians under the Emperor Diocletian. He was a military leader and a secret Christian.
Uar provided assistance to many persecuted and imprisoned Christians, visited prisons, brought food to prisoners, treated wounds, and encouraged them. However, he himself could not decide to openly confess his faith in Christ.
One day he visited seven holy ascetics in prison. As the day of judgment approached, one of them died. Seeing this as a Divine sign, Uar decided to stand next to the martyrs instead of the deceased.
At his trial he declared himself a Christian. After this, during cruel torture, the martyr Uar betrayed his soul to God.
