The holy doctors without money Cosmas and Damian, those from Asia; 22nd Sunday after Pentecosttranslated

Orthodox calendar, November 1 The holy doctors without money Cosma and Damian, those from Asia Saints Cosmas and Damian were brothers, originally from Asia. Their father was a pagan, and their mother was a Christian, namely Theodotia. This, after the death of her husband, lived in widowhood, having complete freedom and worshiping God all her life.
That's how she taught her beloved sons, Cosma and Damian. He fed them with good teaching, in the Christian faith and with the sweetness of the divine Scriptures, guiding them to all good deeds.
And they, growing up in the Lord's law and learning a pure life, became like two luminaries, shining in the world with their good deeds. For this they received from God the gift of healing, offering health to souls and bodies, curing all kinds of diseases and driving away evil spirits.
They did not only help people, but also animals, and they did not receive anything for this from anyone. They did everything not for wealth, but out of love for God and their neighbor.
Thus, spending their lives in good faith, they went to the eternal ones in peace.
