"The mountain is also an image of the spiritual climb. No one can reach the top of the mountain without effort," emphasized PS Nectarie de Bogdania on Thursday, at the patron of the Ceahlău Monastery, located at an altitude of 1,800.

The service was attended by pilgrims from all over the country, some of them walking hundreds of kilometers to reach the monastery's celebration.

The Holy Liturgy was celebrated at the outer altar by the Most Reverend Father Nectarie de Bogdania, Vicar Bishop of the Archdiocese of Chisinau.

Image of spiritual ascent His Eminence highlighted the spiritual significance of the climb up the mountain, showing that it symbolizes the path of every Christian to meeting God.

Well said bishop. The same thing happened to me last year when my husband and I climbed up to Panagia in Aegina; at first I thought I wouldn't make it, but step by step we got there. The "no pain and no pain" he said reminded me of exactly that.
