Director Yelena Popovici is participating in the Quo Vadis 2026 International Film Festival in Iașitranslated

October 31, 2026 · 1 min read

The director Yelena Popovic, the author of the film "Man of God", will participate in the Quo Vadis 2026 International Film Festival in Iasi, where she will present her latest film, Moses the Black.

The new film of the Christian-Orthodox director brings to the center of contemporary cinema the figure of Saint Moses the Ethiopian, one of the most powerful conversion stories of Christianity.

The road from violence and lawlessness to repentance and holiness becomes the subject of a story about the radical possibility of human change in any era of history and in any social environment.

Other guests Yelena Popovic will not be the only personality in the field who will participate in the Christian culture event.

One of the central moments of the edition will take place on Saturday, November 14, when Jonathan Pageau will give the conference "Beyond entertainment. Symbol and faith in cinema".

Known for his exploration of Christian symbolism and the way grand narratives continue to structure contemporary culture, Pageau offers Quo Vadis audiences a reflection on pop culture, including cinema, beyond its entertainment function.
