Interestingly, Origen was a student of Clement in Alexandria and already with him he began to combine philosophy and asceticism. It's a pity that only a fragment of the text remains, I'm really interested in how they later viewed his interpretation of the Bible through allegory. Thanks for the reminder, I need to pick up one of his books.

Yes, I remember that Origen studied with Clement in Alexandria, and this combination of philosophy and asceticism was the basis of his work.
