Faithful from various regions of the country bowed on Sunday before the right foot relic of the Holy Anne, mother of the Mother of God. The venerated odor was brought to the Archepiscopal Cathedral in Constanța from the Church of "St. George-New" in Bucharest.

The holy relics, part of the patrimony of the Monastery of Koutloumousion on Mount Athos, were brought to the municipality on Friday.

Taking this opportunity, the Archbishop Theodosius of Tomis emphasized the importance of venerating the Holy Parents Ioachim and Anne and their role in the history of salvation.

"Over several days we are in a continuous feast. The veneration was prepared by God," said His Grace, explaining that "the Saints and the Holy Parents Ioachim and Anne 'prayed all their lives for God to give them a child whom they would bow before Him.'"

The Archbishop of Tomis thanked the Very Reverend Father Patriarch Daniel for blessing the relic's journey from the Church of "St. George-New" in Bucharest.
