PS Ioan Casian to Romanians in Canada: We do nothing but what Christ Himself taught us and lefttranslated

"We don't do anything other than what Christ Himself taught us and left us", emphasized the Most Reverend Father Ioan Casian, Bishop of Canada, on Sunday, at the Romanian Parish "Holy Pious Parascheva and St. Prophet Ilie Thesvitean" in Newmarket, province of Ontario, Canada.

His Eminence explained that the miracle of the multiplication of the five loaves and the two fish, recounted in the Gospel of the 8th Sunday after Pentecost.

"It is not by chance that this pericope is placed in the liturgical order of the Church, because it reveals the deep meaning of the Mystery that we perform at every Holy Liturgy. It speaks of our communion with God and of the communion between us, as members of the same Church," said the hierarch.

Foreshadowing of the Holy Liturgy The Bishop of Canada showed that the gestures performed by the Savior at the multiplication of the loaves (taking the gifts, blessing, breaking and distributing them) are found in the order of the Holy Liturgy.
