The Archbishop of Arad received the Greek Metropolitan of Atlanta for a visittranslated

His Eminence Father Timotei, Archbishop of Arad, received on Monday Metropolitan Sebastian of Atlanta from the Greek Orthodox Archdiocese of America (Ecumenical Patriarchate).

Archbishop Timotei presented the new "Holy Trinity" Archbishop's Cathedral in Arad to the metropolitan. According to representatives of the diocese, Metropolitan Sebastian was "deeply impressed by the beauty and grandeur" of the place of worship.

The visit continued at the Hodoș-Bodrog Monastery, where the Greek hierarch was welcomed by the monastic community. Father Proto-Singhel Nicolae Tang, university lecturer at the "Ilarion V. Felea" Faculty of Orthodox Theology in Arad and a resident of the monastery, presented the history of one of the oldest monastic settlements in the country.

The guest visited the old church of the monastery and learned details about the Byzantine-inspired iconographic program, the Summer Chapel and the episcopal crypt. He was also shown the monastery's museum collections, with an emphasis on Slavonic and Middle-Bulgarian manuscripts, as well as representative examples of old books.
