"The Mother of God is the fruit of the prayer of the two pious, faithful, humble, but at the same time very merciful parents," said Tuesday Bishop Andrei of Covasna and Harghita at the dedication of the Monastery of Our Lady in the Moglănești - Toplița neighborhood.

His Eminence emphasized that the parents of the Mother of God had a great gift, namely that they were God-fearing.

"A very important thing to be God-fearing in a secularized world. You rarely find such God-fearing people."

His Holiness Father Andrei urged patience and trust in God's care, especially in life's trials.

"First of all we learn how great is the power of prayer, humble prayer, patience and waiting, especially when it comes to having children."

Parents' responsibility The Bishop of Deva and Hunedoara highlighted the responsibility of parents towards their children in contemporary society.

"Truly, it is the hardest job to be a parent, to educate your child in the fear of God, to respect your neighbor, because today shame among people has died. To educate your child with respect and at the same time to teach him what it means...

The bit about Joachim and Anna being “temători de Dumnezeu” really stuck with me. In a world where shame itself seems to have died, as the bishop said, that quiet fear of the Lord is exactly what’s missing when we try to raise our own kids. Makes you wonder if we pray with enough patience for the things we ask God for.
