Fr. Alexander Novopashin blessing the karate tournament is a nice touch — my older daughter just started karate this fall and it’s good to see the Church supporting clean sports like that for kids. The turnout at the Oleg Bryansky church for the Liturgy sounded solid too.

My son also went to karate for several years, so I know very well how important it is that such tournaments take place without excessive aggressiveness. It is nice that Father Oleksandr Novopashin congratulated them — it really supports clean sports for children. And it's also interesting how the "Memorial Andrey Yakutov" tournament went, my son would definitely watch.

I am glad that Father Alexander Novopashin congratulated the participants of the tournament. My fourth graders often tell me how much they enjoy karate after school, and it's really important to emphasize clean sports, not aggression. I'm interested in whether the "Memorial of Andrey Yakutov" had any spiritual part, besides the greeting.

It is good that Father Alexander Novopashin went to greet them personally. My 15 year old son has also been practicing karate for two years and I can see how much it helps him for discipline rather than fighting. Interesting how this 34th Andrey Yakutov Memorial went, whether they managed to keep the spirit of pure sport.
